If Mr. Arafat is elected
democratically would you consider him to be a partner in
negotiations?
Barely.
What reforms do you consider necessary before supporting
negotiations with the Palestinians?
If we could have a week of nonviolence I
would support beginning negotiations.
Do you consider the Palestinian Authority to be a terrorist
organization to which all funding should be stopped and assets
frozen?
No, part of it is, but it is the only
organization that there is for us to work with at this time.
Do you support Israelšs right to take military action to
eradicate terrorism?
I believe in a thoughtful response to
terrorism but I don't preclude an armed response. |
